Theme Parks

Disney World Resort, in Lake Bueno Vista, outside Orlando, is the world's most popular theme park resort. Walt Disney World actually comprises four theme parks: Disney's Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. Disney's Hollywood Studios features attractions based around movies, including the Great Movie Ride, the Backlot Studio Tour and the live Beauty and the Beast stage show. Epcot is an educational park and divided into two areas - World Showcase and Future World. World Showcase is a series of pavilions allowing the visitor the chance to glimpse the cultures and achievements of different countries from around the world. Future World is centered on technological innovation and features such attractions as Spaceship Earth and the exciting 3D movie Honey I Shrunk the Audience. Disney's Animal Kingdom is a mixture of theme park rides and zoological exhibits, including the Kilimanjaro Safari - a jeep ride past enclosures of live African animals - and the Kali River Rapids, where visitors are whisked through a tropical forest on a water-tire ride. Magic Kingdom is based on the original Disneyland in California and organised around the world-famous Cinderella Castle are seven areas:

Main Street USA, Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, Mickey's Toontown, and Tomorrowland. Near Walt Disney World is the smaller but equally entertaining Universal Orlando, which comprises Universal Studios Orlando, Universal's Islands of Adventure and Universal Citywalk. The latter is a thriving entertainment and retail district featuring cinemas, restaurants and stores. Universal's Islands of Adventure consists of five exciting islands each with their own unique rides and attractions: Jurassic Park, Toon Lagoon, The Lost Continent, Seuss Landing and Marvel Super Hero Island. Universal Studios Orlando features movie-themed rides and live shows, such as The Simpsons Ride, E.T. Adventure and the live 3-D experience Terminator 2: 3-D Battle Across Time. Sea World Orlando is a combination of a marine life park and a theme park, highlights include experiencing the spectacular Shamu stadium show, traveling across the floor of a giant shark tank in Shark Encounter and Journey to Atlantis - a thrilling water ride/rollercoaster.
